Volusia beaches closed to swimming, Jetty Connector damaged amid strong tides, hazardous surf

Volusia County officials have issued double-red flags along the coastline, prohibiting all water entry until further notice due to dangerous surf conditions, strong rip currents and widespread debris left behind by recent tidal activity, according to a news release.
